Somewhere around the second or third week of September, a specific kind of tired shows up. It is not dramatic. The weather is often still warm, the days do not feel obviously short yet, and nothing about the calendar looks like winter. But the afternoons get heavier, motivation gets harder to locate, and a lot of people quietly assume they are just tired from the summer or slow to get back into a routine.

If low energy or low mood starts to feel heavy, persistent, or hard to shake regardless of the season, that is worth bringing to a doctor or therapist rather than troubleshooting with light and routine alone. For everyone else, the milder dip responds well to a few specific, well evidenced habits.
What Actually Helps
Vitamin D is part of this picture too, and it is one of the more straightforward pieces.
